A little more about my approach…

Gigi Cunningham, massage therapist and owner of Onda Therapeutics, is an experienced practitioner of the healing and therapeutic arts. Her main technique involves a slow myofacial release and somatic unwinding approach. Depending on the client’s needs can also incorporate structural Swedish and neuromuscular massage, visceral manipulation and intraoral techniques. Nonetheless all are used to treat injuries, stimulate growth and repair, encourage healing, inspire deep relaxation, and foster stronger connections between the body and mind.

No two people are alike. Your body, your philosophy, your condition, and your goals all influence what you seek from a massage regimen. Gigi's approach and experience allows her to design unique sessions for each client based on their needs and desires. Whether treating an injury or easing the stress of everyday life, Gigi strives to establish a deep understanding of her clients to create an appropriate plan for each individual's situation.

Massage therapy has been medically proven to help treat anxiety, digestive disorders, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, headaches, insomnia related to stress, myofascial pain syndrome, soft tissue tension, sports injuries (strains/sprains), Temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ), and other conditions.

If you are in the Seattle area and are seeking a holistic approach on massage, Gigi would love to work with you and establish an individualized treatment plan. Don't hesitate to contact Gigi for more information.

Onda Therapeutics is currently not accepting health insurance.

Yoga

Gigi began her journey into Yoga and Reiki ten years ago.  Her first yoga class was from the traditional Yin yoga tradition.  It is here where she discovered how yoga can connect you ever transforming connective tissues and fascia allowing for expansion and tension release. Later, Gigi would go to Rishikesh, India at the foothills of the Veda’s birthplace to learn the 8 limbs of yoga and strengthen her training in both Hatha and Ashtanga practices.

It is important to remember that yoga is not just about the asanas and their affects on the body.  It is about the connection between mind, body and spirit using the breath, asanas, mindfulness, diet and self exploration. Although having the ability to go up into hand stand or twist yourself up into a pretzel can be fun, it is not necessary and ultimately not the purpose of yoga. The purpose is to bring the body back to homeostasis, balancing all parts of an individual.

Gigi will tailor your own personal in-home yoga class based on your own needs and desires.  With her anatomy and body work knowledge as well as her extensive study in mindfulness and mediation she hopes to be able to tailor an all-encompassing practice that will get you closer to your own individual center.
